The Flambeau Procession The Flambeau Procession brings the curtain down on events of the week long activities
of every Emancipation celebrations. Hundreds of lit flambeaux held aloft light
up the night sky as participants energised by the pulsating rhythms of the drums
proceed from the centre of activities the Lidj Yasu Omowale village through
the neighbouring communities to the All Stars Pan Theatre on Duke Street, the
historical site of the 1881 Kambule riots, where the final rituals of Emancipation
celebrations are held.

The All Stars Pan Theatre space has historical significance. It was the place
where the newly freed Africans rioted in 1881 when their former owners attempted
to curtain street processions celebrations the end of the slavery.
